Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.
This undergraduate 3MT is designed to challenge undergraduate students engaging in independent research to deliver a compelling oral presentation of their research topic and its significance. The presentation must be no more than three minutes in length and is judged by a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is not to trivialise or ‘dumb-down’ the subject matter, but rather to consolidate ideas and communicate it in a way that is intriguing.
The University of Toronto is one of the first universities in North America to host an undergraduate-level 3MT on Sunday March 30th, 2014.
